Alonso: "We aim to be closer to Q3 this weekend"

Formula 1 comes to Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 14th race of the 2025 season, which will also be the final race before the summer break.

Aston Martin currently sits eighth in the championship and is struggling to compete. Fernando Alonso finished 17th in the race at Spa, while teammate Lance Stroll finished 14th.

When asked what the problem was at Spa-Francorchamps, Alonso replied: "I think the problem was the track itself. At least I like to think so."

"The car was no different from the previous races. But we lacked pace from the first practice."

Alonso, who is expecting a better performance at the Hungaroring this weekend, aims to be at least close to Q3.

"Hopefully we'll be a little bit closer to Q3 or a little bit more competitive."

"On the grid, there are 10 cars within 2-3 splits of each other. We want to be at the top of that group. So everyone will do their best."
